The NCC Special Entry Scheme gives an opportunity to the candidates to become an officer in the Indian Armed Forces who have done the NCC training and holds a minimum “C” certificate with ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade. This scheme is applicable for both male and female candidates. Candidates are not required to appear for written exam under this scheme. They directly appear for the Service Selection Board (interview). The Service Selection Board examines their suitability to fit to become an officer in the Indian Armed Forces. Joining the Indian Armed Forces as an officer through the NCC Special Entry Scheme is a prestigious recruitment program for NCC cadets.

Who can apply ?

  • Age: Candidate’s age should be between 19 and 25 years (varies based on entry).
  • Nationality: Indian
  • Education qualification: Graduation from any recognized university in any stream with minimum. 50% marks. If Candidate is appearing in IIIrd year he should get aggregate 50% marks in Ist and IInd year.
  • Candidates are required to hold an NCC ‘C’ Certificate with a minimum ‘A’ & ‘B’ grade.
  • The candidate should be physically fit as per the standard guidelines of Army/Navy/Air Force requirements.

Selection Process :

First Step : Shortlisting of candidates is done based on NCC certificates and academic performance.

Second Step : After shortlisting of candidate, they call for the SSB interview. The Service Selection Board is a five-day procedure to examine the capability of a candidate to become officer in the Indian Armed Forces.

Third step : Candidates who qualify the the SSB. They went under medical examination.

Fourth Step : A merit list is being prepared based on the score achieved in the SSB and medical test.

SSB Conducted timeline : In the month of Dec/Jan and Jun/July

Date of commencement of training : In the month of Apr and Oct
