Colonel Vikrant Prasher, currently posted at the prestigious Para High Altitude Warfare School in Gulmarg, has been appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Training and Special Operations, in the Jammu & Kashmir Police on a two-year deputation. This significant appointment brings a seasoned military officer into a crucial role aimed at enhancing the state’s policing capabilities in both training and counter-insurgency operations.
In his new role, Colonel Prasher will be responsible for overseeing specialized training programs for J&K Police personnel, focusing on counter-terrorism, high-altitude warfare, and tactical operations in the region’s challenging terrain. His experience at the Para High Altitude Warfare School, known for preparing soldiers for extreme combat scenarios, will be instrumental in shaping advanced training modules for the force.
Additionally, Colonel Prasher will lead special operations aimed at neutralizing threats and managing law and order in the volatile regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
