The Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch is the legal arm of the Indian Army, providing legal assistance and advisory services to the military. JAG officers serve as military lawyers, handling legal matters, advising commanders, and prosecuting cases.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education Qualification : LAW Graduate with 55% Aggregate Marks and eligibility for registration of Bar Council of India/State. In addition, CLAT PG Score of Preceding year is mandatory for all candidates (including LLM qualified and LLM appearing candidates)
- Age: 21-27 years
- Nationality: Indian
- Education: LLB/LLM degree from a recognized university
Selection Process:
- Shortlisting
- SSB Interview (5 days)
- Medical Examination
- Merit List preparation
- Final selection by JAG Selection Board
Training:
- 49 weeks at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai in the month of Apr and October
- Additional training at Army Law School, Kolkata
